HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR TABLE

HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR TABLE

Maintaining the Beauty & Longevity of Your Hardwood Masterpiece

Your custom table is built from exotic hardwood and finished with premium oils and protective coatings. With proper care, it will last for generations.

1. Daily Care

  • Wipe with a slightly damp, soft cloth
  • Avoid paper towels (they scratch)
  • Never use harsh cleaners or chemicals

Acceptable cleaners:

  • Diluted mild dish soap
  • Water and a microfiber cloth

2. Temperature & Humidity

Hardwood responds to its environment.
Maintain indoor humidity of 40–55% to prevent excessive movement.

Avoid placing your piece:

  • Next to heating vents
  • Near space heaters
  • In direct sunlight
  • Against cold exterior walls

3. Heat Protection

Never place hot pans, pots, or appliances directly on the surface.
Use:

  • Trivets
  • Heat-resistant pads
  • Coasters for hot mugs

4. Water & Liquids

  • Wipe spills immediately
  • Do not leave cups, vases, or cold items sitting directly on the surface
  • Avoid standing water, which can cause swelling

5. Sun Exposure

UV light will naturally darken or lighten wood over time.
Minimize direct sunlight exposure to preserve consistent color.

6. Cleaning Don’ts

Never use:

  • Bleach
  • Ammonia
  • Vinegar
  • Alcohol
  • Furniture polish sprays
  • Silicone-based products

These can damage the finish and dry the wood.

7. Long-Term Care

Depending on usage, your table may benefit from a maintenance treatment every 12–24 months.
We can advise the best method for your specific finish system.

8. Minor Scratches

Small marks come with life — and can often be buffed gently with a microfiber cloth.

Final Note

Your table is a living material shaped by nature and crafted by hand.
Treat it with care, and it will reward you with beauty, character, and strength for decades.
